Research Services
Volunteers provide photocopying and research services for those unable to travel to Marshall in person in exchange for a small donation to the library.

If you know what you want to see and you have a call number or other description from the catalog or index, make a photocopy request.

If you need someone to sxplore the collection for you or answer questions, request research assistance.
Photocopy Services
$10 for members
$15 for non-members

The fee covers up to 10 pages. Because the library is staffed by volunteers, it may take 2 - 4 weeks to complete the request. Copies are sent via email or the postal service.

Include the catalog item number or index entry on the request form; for assistance searching the collection, request research assistance below.
Research Assistance
$20 per hour for members
$25 per hour for non-members.
Volunteers answer most inquiries in one hour. For extensive research beyond 3 hours, consider hiring a local genealogist.
Research may take 2-4 weeks, depending upon the number of available volunteers.
Research results vary; fees are for research time, regardless of the quantity of results.
Many hours of diligent research may produce a rich family history or only scant trace of ancestors who treaded lightly in Fauquier County.
